Student housing shortage in New Jersey

Many campuses are building new facilities

The demand for campus housing inNew Jersey has fueled a building boom, sending some of the state's public colleges deeper into debt and driving up competition among schools. Rising enrollment linked to the burgeoning enrollment has put a severe strain on the colleges' ability to house students. And the problem is getting worse. This semester, hundreds of students are living in hotels and hundreds more are tripled-up in rooms due to bed shortages.
