Noblesville voters say no in special election

TheNoblesville (Ind.) School district has failed to persuade voters to spend $59.5 million on building projects. In a special election for spending on school buildings, 1,880 Noblesville residents voted no and 1,799 voted yes, according to Hamilton County's elections office. The proposal would have enabled the district to expand four schools and build an elementary. The plan would move fifth-graders to the elementaries and convert the Grades 5 and 6 intermediate school, which opened in 2007, into a middle school for Grades 6-8.
