Charter school construction provides a boost in New York City

City is adding a number of charter schools
Aug. 19, 2009

From The New York Times: Charter school construction is providing a minor but growing niche for the building and design industries in the New York City area. Much of the investment is going into historically poor neighborhoods in the South Bronx and central Brooklyn, as well as in Harlem. In the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx, construction will start soon on a 54,000-square-foot building Mott Haven Academy Charter School. A facility also is being constructed nearby for the South Bronx Charter School for International Cultures and Arts.
