Committee recommends 12 new NYC charter schools

State's board of regents is expected to approve plan

A subcommittee of the New York State Board of Regents has paved the way for the approval of a dozen new New York City charter schools. The final green light is expected from the full board today. The 12 new charter schools would raise the citywide total to 73 come September.
