Student charged with murder in stabbing at Coral Gables, Fla., high school

From The Miami Herald: With students spilling into the hallways and courtyard of Coral Gables (Fla.) Senior High School Tuesday morning, 17-year-old Juan Carlos Rivera found himself outside the gym locked in a shoving match with another student. Witnesses say the other student, identified as Andy Rodriguez, pulled a blade on Juan Carlos and stabbed him three times -- once in the chest, once in the collarbone and once near the stomach. Rodriguez, 17, has been charged with second-degree murder.

A student was stabbed to death Tuesday morning at Coral Gables (Fla.) High School, according to law enforcement and school officials. A student was in custody in the stabbing death, according to a law enforcement source. The Miami-Dade school district has confirmed the victim is a student, but the victim's identity has not been disclosed.
