Judge upholds Missouri school finance

Ruling rejects claims that finance formula violated constitution.

A judge has upheld Missouri's method for funding public schools, rejecting arguments by more than 200 school districts that sought more than $1 billion in new spending. The judge dismissed claims that the state is failing to meet constitutional requirements to provide an adequate education for all public school students. He also rejected the assertion that per-pupil spending ought to be equal between wealthy and poor districts.
