Budget shortfall may claim 30-year-old center

The Richardson (Texas) district has operated an environmental studies center for 30 years. It was one of the first of its kind in North Texas , but it may fall victim to the district's budget woes. School board members are talking about closing the center, along with a district-run planetarium. Next year's budget in Richardson is projected to have an $873,000 deficit.
