Many schools in state do not have rooms to shelter students from dangerous storms
In the wake of tornadoes that struck Arkansas last week, Gov. Mike Beebe is urging schools in the state to install tornado-safe rooms to keep students safe when storms hit. The Arkansas Department of Education says many schools throughout the state do not have safe rooms. State law requires schools to hold tornado drills no less than four times per year, but the laws only suggest building safe rooms.
