Oct. 4, 2010

From The Baton Rouge Advocate: What will be the largest public elementary school in Baton Rouge, La., capable of educating 825 students, is rising fast on an eight-acre plot. The rebuilt Claiborne Elementary will be twice as large as the school it is replacing. To fill the new two-story $18.1 million structure, the East Baton Rouge Parish school system plans to redraw Claiborne’s attendance zone and is considering closing at least one nearby elementary school.
