Milwaukee-area districts mull boost in lunch price

Rising food costs put strain on food-service budgets

Most school districts across the Milwaukee area looking to increase the prices of school lunches next year by anywhere from 10 cents to 50 cents per meal. The hope is that raising the price of lunches will help cover anticipated deficits caused by rising food costs, inflation and the inability of federal and state reimbursements to keep up with the cost of producing meals in schools.
