New York City buys building in Greenwich Village for a school

State-owned building was purchased by the city for $40 million

From The New York Times: New York City’s Education Department has agreed to buy a state-owned building in the Greenwich Village neighborhood to be used for a new public school. City officials say they agreed to buy the building after the state lowered its price to $40 million from $78 million. The building now houses offices for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, which will relocate.
