Workers worry that contracting out services could them their jobs
FromThe Boston Globe: The economic downturn has prompted officials at Boston College to look at outsourcing the duties of some facility workers to save on overtime costs. Doing so, officials say, would help the school preserve jobs. Many faculty, students, and workers are questioning the move to contract out overtime work, saying it could open the door to replacing the employees with lower-wage, nonunion workers.
