Facility in Herriman will hold 900 students
The Jordan (Utah) School District is getting ready to break ground on a $17 million elementary school in Herriman that is slated to open summer 2009. The 80,000-square-foot structure is meant to alleviate growth on the west side of Interstate 15. The school will have the capacity to hold 900 students. Although the Jordan district is preparing to split into two, the school board decided to proceed with construction because the project was called for in a $280 million bond package that voters approved in 2003 and because the area continues to grow. The architect for the project is VCBO Architecture. To read The Deseret News article, click here.
