Virginia distributes $229 million in bonds for school construction

Money will help pay for 41 projects

News release: The Virginia Department of Education has allocated $229.5 million in Qualified School Construction Bonds to help pay for 41 construction, renovation and expansion projects in 33 school divisions. The allocations include $15 million for construction of a new Blacksburg High School to replace the school that has been closed because of a 2010 roof collapse attributed to structural deficiencies and heavy snow.
