Detroit school district names new police chief

32-year police veteran replaces longtime chief

From The Detroit News: Detroit Public Schools has named Roderick I. Grimes the district's new police chief. Grimes is a 32-year police veteran--25 years with the Detroit Police Department and seven years with the district. He replaces longtime Chief Charles Mitchell, whose contract was not renewed.
