June 23, 2011

From The San Diego Union-Tribune: The Sweetwater (Calif.) school board has fired its superintendent after six months of ethical questions surrounding him, his favored administrators and the district’s outside consultants. Jesus Gandara will receive 18 months of severance pay, an amount district officials and the board president placed between $350,000 and $500,000. Gandara prompted outcry from the community in recent months after The Union-Tribune reported inappropriate financial dealings.
