Los Angeles Mission College to build fitness center

Facility will be designed to meet LEED standards for green construction.

The Los Angeles Community College District is building a Health and Physical Education Fitness Center at Los Angeles Mission College in the San Fernando Valley. The 90,000-square-foot facility will have teaching, recreation, and support areas. The district says in a news release that the building is being designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification standards. The architect is Cannon Design, and the builder is FTR International.
