East English Village Preparatory Academy replaces 2 campuses

From The Detroit News: East English Village Preparatory Academy, a new high school on Detroit's far east side, looks as if it dropped out of some swanky suburb. The $46.5 million building, covers 221,000 square feet, with wings radiating out from a central core that looks a bit like a parked flying saucer. It was designed by Albert Kahn and Associates. East English replaces both the old Crockett High School and Finney High School, which was demolished to make way for the new building. The academy is one of three new schools the district is opening. The others are Mackenzie Elementary-Middle School and Munger Elementary-Middle School.
