Audit finds that First Student could provide records for some of its drivers
From The Columbus Dispatch: First Student Inc., the largest pupil-transportation business in North America, has paid a $50,000 fine in Ohio and is on probation again because it violated its last probation. As part of an agreement to keep its operating license, the company, which drives 11 percent of Columbus' 800 school-bus routes and all of Cincinnati's, will hire an independent auditor to conduct monthly checks of its driver records. First Student, admitted that it broke the rules in August 2009. An audit found that the company couldn't provide required records for six of 26 drivers in the company's Miami Valley office near Dayton.
