Tax elections may be tough sell in Arizona districts

School officials worry about taxpayer backlash.

Money targeted to build schools, provide for lower class sizes, buy technology for classrooms and pay for teacher salaries are among the choices that voters in 22 Phoenix-area school districts face in the Nov. 6 election. Some school officials worry that districts may face a taxpayer backlash in the wake of homeowners' assessed valuations rising dramatically this year.
