From The Detroit News: Two former Detroit Public Schools employees have pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to defraud the school district. An indictment made public in May alleged that Toni D. Gilbert, a former payroll manager, issued payroll checks totaling more than $400,000 to Anton V. Carter after Carter retired from the school district.
