Sarasota County, Fla., plans new middle school in North Port

The Sarasota County (Fla.) district is moving forward with plans for a second middle school in North Port. The 175,000-square-foot school would open in August 2008. it would serve about 1,200 students and relieve a space crunch in the fast-growing city.
