The Meridian (Miss.) school district is scheduled to break ground in the spring on a ninth-grade center on the Meridian High School campus. District officials hope to have the building completed in 2009 and move the ninth-graders from two junior high schools to the senior high campus. The $10.2 million budget for the facility comes from a $19.5 million bond issue approved by voters in 2007. The architect is Pryor & Morrow Architects.
