Many states have rewritten education laws

Reforms may help some states win federal funding from Race to the Top initiative

From The New York Times: A dozen or so states have passed education reform legislation this year, in part to increase states’ chances in a $4 billion federal grant competition. Lawmakers in Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New York have approved bills modifying their tenure and evaluation rules.
