Closed college campus in Nebraska may get new purpose

Feb. 1, 2012

From The Omaha World-Herald: Two years after Dana College in Blair, Neb., closed its doors, the campus may be reborn as an institute for environmental efficiency. According to a proposal before the Blair City Council, the campus would become Renewable Nations Institute at Dana College and begin classes in the fall. Students would work 20 hours a week and spend 30 additional hours a week in classes, seminars, workshops and conferences. For 126 years, Dana College was a small Lutheran liberal arts college about 30 miles northwest of Omaha. It closed in July 2010 because of financial difficulties.
