Wake County district taps emergency funds to cover higher fuel costs

Higher fuel costs are forcing the Wake County (N.C.) school district to dip into its rainy-day fund to keep school buses on the road. The school board has voted to take $2.2 million out of emergency coffers to pay for higher-than-expected diesel fuel costs.
