New high school opens in Columbus, Ohio

Facility upgrades are result of 2002 bond

In Columbus, Ohio, the new Downtown High School and the revitalized East High School - two capstone projects in the first round of the district's school-construction plan - are opening their doors to students today. Along with South High School, which is to open this summer, the East Side and Downtown schools are the largest and among the last projects funded by the $392 million bond issue that voters approved in 2002.
