Teachers in Clark County (Nev.) district ratify pay freeze

Forgoing raises for a year will help school system balance its budget
From The Las Vegas Sun: The union representing teachers in the Clark County (Nev.) district has ratified a new contract that freezes teacher pay for one year. The agreement will help the district eliminate most of a remaining $28 million budget gap without resorting to furlough days or layoffs.
