Restoring building at Northboro Elementary could cost $1.8 million or more

From The South Florida Sun-Sentinel: The cost of restoring a vacant 1928 building at a West Palm Beach, Fla., elementary school could soar to at least $1.8 million — about $700,000 more than anticipated for the historic structure, warns a citizens group that advises the Palm Beach County School Board. The exterior of the two-story structure at Northboro Elementary must be preserved, according to a 2008 deal between the city and the county school board. Work on the stand-alone building was halted after contractors discovered "numerous unforeseen structural deficiencies" that will cost more to address.
