Action comes after concern about renovation costs for president's offices

From The Hartford Courant: Hoping to avoid another surprise like the costly renovation of Gulley Hall, members of a University of Connecticut trustee committee are taking steps to ensure that any such building projects will come before them. The trustees' committee wants any renovation or building project initiated by the university president to be presented to them. In the past, only projects of $500,000 or more had to go before the committee. The concern was prompted by the $450,000 renovation of Gulley Hall, where President Michael Hogan's office is housed, along with the purchase of $39,000 in furniture for the office.
