New schools open in Snohomish (Wash.) district

Two elementary campuses feature green design elements

From The Snohomish County Tribune: Students at Riverview and Machias elementary schools in the Snohomish (Wash.) district explored their new digs for the first time this week when they returned to school. Construction work is finishing up at both schools. Both schools have green design features, including solar panels, innovative heating and cooling systems and improved ventilation.The schools are being funded through a 2008 $261.6 million school bond.
