Washington, D.C., schools seek better food

Officials want to hire outside contractor to improve cafeteria offerings

Washington, D.C., Schools Chancellor Michelle A. Rhee is seeking a contractor to upgrade cafeteria menus with more nutritious and tasty food. She says the in-house program has lost $30 million in three years partly because students refuse to buy meals that don't taste good.
