Northern Illinois University opens new residence hall

$80 million facility offers housing to 1,008 students

From The Chicago Sun-Times: Students have begun moving into the New Residence Hall at Northern Illinois University, a state-of-the-art, $80 million facility on the DeKalb campus. The hall has capacity for 1,008 students; housing is set up so that semi-private restrooms are shared with just one other student. The clustered living arrangements have a commons for 12 students that holds a study area, living room with flat-screen TV, kitchenette, washer and dryer. The first new residence hall at Northern Illinois in 44 years.
