New Oceanside high school won't open in 2008

Vista (Calif.) Unified district says it can't afford to operate new campus

A long-awaited high school campus in Oceanside, Calif., won't open at the beginning of the new school year, as the Vista Unified School District braces for potentially deep funding cuts. The district faces a potential $8.2 million budget deficit for the coming school year, and operating the campus in 2008-09 would add nearly $1.3 million to that gap.
