Texas high school girl commits suicide in school bathroom

Girl left band practice and shot herself to death.

A 15-year-old student at Tidehaven high school in Matagorda County, Texas, fatally shot herself in a school bathroom Friday. The girl was a flute player in the school band and had asked to leave practice to go to the bathroom about 8:30 a.m. Some of the student's friends told investigators that she had been depressed and had sometimes talked about suicide, but administrators said they weren't aware that the student was having problems.
