Alabama intervenes in Birmingham district operations

State personnel will assist school system with financial recovery plan

From The Birmingham News: The Alabama State Board of Education has voted to intervene in the daily operation of the Birmingham school system; the state might eventually seize direct control of the system's troubled finances. Board members approved the resolution authorizing a level one intervention, which will send in personnel to assist with a financial recovery plan.
