New York appoints new state commissioner of education

From The New York Daily News: The New York State Board of Regents has named John King the state education commissioner. King, a deputy commissioner, will replace David Steiner as the state's education czar and will receive an annual salary of $212,500. Steiner's salary was $250,000 a year.
