Mississippi takes over Sunflower County district

Action comes after state report detailing problems in school system

From The Jackson Clarion-Ledger: The Sunflower County (Miss.) schools' superintendent and board have been removed, and the Mississippi Department of Education is moving forward with a takeover of the 1,670-student district. The action followed a report by state Department of Education officials regarding allegations in the district ranging from sexual offenses on school grounds to misuse of federal dollars.
