Arlington (Texas) superintendent resigns with no explanation

From The Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Former Arlington (Texas) School Superintendent Jerry McCullough's departure from the district he led for four years has created confusion among city leaders, residents and educators over why he stepped down so suddenly without any explanation. McCullough, who was paid $235,000 a year, will remain on the payroll until Jan. 14, according to a resignation and separation agreement approved by Arlington trustees.

McCullough was not present when the school board approved the separation agreement. McCullough will remain on administrative leave with pay and benefits until his contract ends Jan. 14. The board selected Deputy Superintendent Marcelo Cavazos as interim superintendent.
