University of Memphis opens new university center

School wants new facility to become a campus hub

The University of Memphis has opened its new University Center. The building's features include a sky-lighted atrium, a 24-hour computer lab, student organization and support offices, a 1000-seat dividable ballroom, a 350-seat theatre, conference rooms and a food court with five dining options. The architects are Haizlip Studio and Fisher & Arnold, and the general contractor is Inman Construction.
