Bonds will pay for improvements in Smithville, Mo.

District voters approve $9.84 million in facility upgrades.

The Smithville (Mo.) school district has won approval of a $9.84 million bond package that will pay for building additions and athletic facility upgrades. The projects include a six-classroom addition to the primary school; expansion of the primary school media center; a seven-classroom addition to the upper elementary School; a new central office and early childhood center facility; completion of a new baseball field complex; a new grandstand at the football field with seating for 1,500 people; and artificial field turf at the football stadium.
