Chicago district cuts 200 jobs under its chief education officer

Reorganization expected to save $16 million

From The Chicago Sun-Times: At least 200 jobs are being eliminated from the Chicago public school system, for a savings of $16 million. The job reductions are part of a reorganization of the office of chief education officer, which once employed 750 people. By the time the dust clears, it will be down to 550 people, officials say.
