State's 18 charter schools get permission to add a total of 622 seats

From The Connecticut Mirror: The Connecticut State Board of Education has approved expanding the number of students that charter schools in the state can enroll. The board authorized 622 new seats in the 18 charter schools in the state. As a result, the state will have 6,071 charter seats for about 569,000 public school students. Charter supporters had sought more seats, but budget limitations prompted the state to approve a more modest increase.
