From The Roanoke Times: For the first time since 32 people were shot to death on April 16, 2007, Virginia Tech students will spend the anniversary of that tragedy in the classroom. The second floor of Norris Hall, where 30 people were fatally shot, houses the Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention. West Ambler Johnston Hall, where the first two students were killed five years ago, is a new residential college where students and faculty live and learn together. Since the shooting, the university has spent nearly $40 million on recovery and security and communications upgrades.
