From The Cleveland Plain Dealer: The Cleveland school board has voted to slash its workforce further by cutting 119 non-teaching jobs. The district is laying off 88 secretaries, security officers and other non-teaching employees. In addition, the district has given notice to 17 non-union staff and will not fill 14 vacant positions. The board voted earlier this month to lay off more than 700 teachers union members -- including 643 of 3,600 classroom teachers -- and 68paraprofessionals.
