Charter advocacy group releases national survey for 2011-12

News release: The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools has released a national survey that says about 610,000 students were on waiting lists last fall to attend a public charter school. A similar survey two years ago said that 420,000 students were on waiting lists. The waiting lists to attend a public charter school have grown 67 percent since the 2008-2009 school year. Increased demand far outpaced the movement’s ability to add seats over the past two years, the Alliance says.
