From The Detroit News: Detroit school district emergency financial manager Robert Bobb has signed off on more than $5 million in contracts with consultants for his turnaround team since taking the job in March. The 38 contracts include more than $1 million for nine members of his academic turnaround team and $747,000 with Fanning Howey, an architecture firm hired for school renovations over the summer and to prepare the $500 million bond application for construction. Another $550,000 contract calls upon Public Financial Management Inc., Bobb's former employer, to create a deficit elimination plan and a long-term financial plan. The Broad Foundation is covering an additional $450,000 of that contract.
