California district notifies 133 employees they could be laid off

Vista Unified says layoffs may be necessary because of state budget cuts

The Vista (Calif.) Unified School District is handing out layoff notices to 133 employees, mostly teachers, as the district – like many others around the state – grapples with potentially deep state funding cuts. The district could withdraw the notices in the future, but it is required to notify employees of potential job losses by March 15.
