$20 million gift for University of Louisville

Money will pay for center on alternative energy technologies

A couple originally has pledged $20 million to theUniversity of Louisville for a research center focused on developing alternative energy technologies, such as solar power, wind and biofuels. The gift is from U of L alumnus Henry Conn and his wife, Rebecca, both Louisville natives now living in Atlanta. The Kentucky General Assembly established the center in 2007 to provide leadership, support and policy development in renewable energy, but provided no money for the project.
