The Hutchinson (Kan.) district is planning a $29.6 million renovation and expansion of its high school. The district is using a construction management at-risk process, which became possible July 1 through a change in state law. The school board chose to use the construction management at-risk method after initial bids on the project came in $7 million over budget.
